Funny! Hot Dog Themed Nintendo Switch Controller

Hyperkin, a video games manufacturing and distributor company from the United States, has once again made a cute and unique game controller. In collaboration with a food company, they created a Hot Dog themed Nintendo Switch controller design.

Previously, Hyperkin had made many game controllers with attractive designs from food brands such as Kraft Mac & Cheese, Heinz, Oscar Mayer, Kool-Aid, and Sriracha.

Reporting from Gizmochina, Wednesday (31/1/2024) the Nintendo Switch controller has a transparent body that is reminiscent of the old N64 controller, featuring red and yellow colors and the addition of curved lines as ‘sauce’ which are the characteristics of Hot Dog food.

Previously, Hyperkin has produced Tetris and Miraculous Ladybug themed controllers, but this is their first foray into the culinary sector. Unfortunately, for fans of multiple consoles, this delicious controller is made only for Switch, PC, and mobile gaming. They are not planned for Xbox or PlayStation compatibility.

For those who like a mix of food and fun, this controller offers a new way to spice up your gaming to make it fun and exciting.

The month of January is quite memorable for gamers. Several new games have been released and can be said to have interesting gameplay. For example, there are Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, Tekken 8, and Palworld.

The quality presented by these four cannot be doubted. Many players are satisfied with the game concept offered by the developer.

How to play Fortnite on Android, at least your cellphone has 4 GB RAM

Fortnite is reportedly coming to iOS devices at the end of 2024. So what about Android phones, when will it be released?

For gamers who usually play games using Google’s operating system, you don’t need to wait long if you want to enjoy Fortnite. Because Epic Games has presented it.

Here’s how to play Fortnite on Android, based on GameStation’s experience of trying it out firsthand. Before that, make sure the cellphone you are using has at least 4 GB RAM, is running Android OS 8.0 or higher, and is using Adreno 530.

For GPU, you can also use Mali-G71 MP20 or Mali-G72 MP12. But if you want to experience a more impressive gaming experience, you can use a cellphone with high specs.

How to Play Fortnite on Android

First of all, you need to know that there are two steps you can take, namely through the official website and the Samsung Galaxy Store. Just in practice, in the end these two steps will lead players to download the game via the Epic Games application.

So here we will explain how to get Fortnite from the official site.

Type the keyword Fortnite Mobile into Google

Then select the top link that directs players to fortnite.com

After that, download the Epic Games application

Then click Install and wait until the process is complete

Open the Epic Games application

Select Fortnite

Next click Install

If you have entered the game and downloaded the file at least around 11.6 GB

Here, just select what resolution you want to apply

Epic Games provides two options, namely Low and High. If you select High, you have to download the 4.7 GB file again. Meanwhile, if you select Low, there is no need to download again

That’s more or less how to play Fortnite on Android. So gamers don’t have to wait long until the end of 2024.

The Most Watched Game Trailer Isn’t GTA VI, But This Game

The GTA VI trailer which was recently released has indeed succeeded in attracting gamers’ attention. However, even though the number of viewers gathered is so large, in fact the video made by Rockstar is still inferior to the popularity of mobile games.

If you visit the Rockstar Games YouTube channel now, you can see the trailer for the latest GTA series, which has been watched 168 million times. This number is enough to overthrow the Minecraft trailer which was released 12 years ago.

Mojang as the developer of Minecraft, through its one minute video, has currently succeeded in getting 167 million views. But at that time it only placed it in second place, as the most watched video game trailer.

Unfortunately Rockstar is still not halfway there, to beat the most watched game trailer which was successfully snatched by Subway Surfers. Published in 2012, the trailer has been watched more than 361 million times, as quoted by Game Station from IGN, Thursday (18/1/2024).

Even so, it looks like the GTA VI trailer still has a big chance of winning the title. Because this game will only be officially released in 2025. Maybe when it actually launches, this opportunity can be realized.

Moreover, gamers are very enthusiastic about this new Rockstar game. Because after many rumors circulated, they finally confirmed that they would bring him in.

Meanwhile, Take-Two Interactive, which is in charge of publishing it, said that when it is released, GTA VI will not be available on PC. So gamers can only play it on PS5, Xbox Series

Gamers must try this game if they like God of War

Surely many gamers agree that God of War (2018) deserves to be called one of the best games. This game is able to provide an extraordinary playing experience, through game mechanics that never disappoint.

Several years later, God of War Ragnarok came and successfully defended the throne. Santa Monica Studios, as the developer, has succeeded in pampering gamers by presenting a new, more interesting world, an expanded storyline, and presenting prominent characters in Norse mythology.

What’s more, this game has its own way of blending cinematic moments and fighting style well. Yes, even though it is quite difficult to match the quality of both, however, there are several games that seem worth trying with almost similar gameplay approaches.

Below is a list of games that GameStat should try, if you really like God of War, as compiled by Game Station from The Gamer, Wednesday (17/1/2024).

AI and the Future of the Gaming Industry, Can it Open New Jobs?

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is not completely a threat. Its sophistication can be used to have a positive impact. Maybe one of them opens up new job opportunities. Well, how is that possible?

This may no longer be just a dream, but could become a reality. Because AI still needs human contribution to make it smarter.

Agate’s Chief Strategy Officer, Cipto Adiguno, said that one of them is becoming a creator to train AI. So this creator no longer creates images or other assets for the game being developed.

“The problem is that now AI has prompts. The prompts don’t always use words, sometimes the prompts use images. And maybe what is needed is not a person who creates the final image, but someone who makes the image or makes multiple prompt to train the AI,” said Cipto to Game Station at the Agate Office, Bandung, Tuesday (16/1/2024).

According to him, AI is just a tool. He is very confident that in the future this technology will have a positive impact, depending on how people use it.

“Either he makes the development process easier or makes it possible for new types of games that were previously impossible (to exist),” he explained.

He only reminded that it didn’t seem like things would go smoothly. This means that there is a transition that must be passed, and there may be resistance. Even so, Cipto is confident that in five to ten years this can be achieved.

Furthermore, he added that Agate itself has tried to implement AI in several of its games. It’s just that Cipto said that the results are often not very visible.

“So that’s actually a good thing. So you can’t tell which ones actually have AI interference and which don’t,” said Cipto.

Cipto also explained that Agate uses AI to look for references, or change the screen format from portrait to landscape. He continued, that they trained this technology with their own images, so that the format could be adjusted.

“So, he’s already filled it. We just need to change it a little. But this is faster,” he explained.

Even though AI is so sophisticated, Cipto said it will still take a long time for this technology to replace humans. Even before that happens, it is possible to shift the role of AI, so that people operate it as a tool only.

“It’s no longer something that’s scary to replace, but it’s just part of the process, part of the tools used,” he concluded.

GameShark Will Come Back, Change Name to AI Shark

For old gamers who like playing PS1 and PS2 games, you will definitely be familiar with GameShark. After its power faded, now this tool which is usually used for cheating will return.

An audio company called Altec Slim, is rumored to be leading its revival. They introduced it with a new name, namely AI Shark.

Yes, as the name suggests, the software will be equipped with artificial intelligence (AI). Then its function changed, it could no longer be used by players to cheat.

Reported by Gamestation from prweb, Monday (15/1/2023), AI Shark will later utilize XGPT technology and TPU acceleration directly. That way, this tool can be used to provide a better gaming experience for beginners.

So users will be presented with various instructions and assistance regarding the game they are playing. No longer like traditional cheat tools, which manipulate hardware, load mods and other code.

“Leveraging the power of AI, supercomputers, and our incredible team of coders, we aim to surpass GameShark’s glory tenfold and redefine the gaming landscape on a global scale,” said Todd Hays, Founder of Ai Shark.

It is said that AI Shark is console-agnostic. The software can adapt to a variety of gaming peripherals, including gaming keyboards, headphones and mice.

Altec Langsing revealed that AI Shark plans to be present this year’s holiday season. Surprisingly, they said it was possible that the software would reach gamers at the same time as the Nintendo Switch 2 release schedule.

“This marks the start of a series of AI Gaming technology partnerships that will enhance the gaming ecosystem for players around the world,” added Hays.

Pikachu will wear batik in the Indonesian edition of Pokemon GO, So Cute!

For the first time, Pokemon GO will launch an Indonesian edition of Pokemon. Later in the game, Pikachu will wear a batik shirt.

“Indonesia is a very meaningful market for us, with loyal communities in all corners of the archipelago. So, we want to appreciate the trainers by combining Indonesian cultural heritage into Pokemon GO,” said Refael Siregar, Emerging Markets Head of APAC Niantic, from the official statement received by Game Station, Tuesday (16/1/2023).

This latest content is a form of collaboration carried out by Niantic with The Pokemon Company, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf), and Garuda Indonesia. Apart from that, they also present an exciting activity called Pikachu’s Indonesia Journey.

This will be the biggest Pokemon event ever held in Indonesia. The event will be held on March 2 to 3 2024, located at Puputan Renon Field, Denpasar, Bali.

Pikachu’s Indonesia Journey presents an exciting adventure to visitors, especially Pokemon GO players. Because the event can be enjoyed in the real and virtual world.

The organizers have prepared a variety of fun activities, starting from presenting booths, games, Pikachu appearances, and other interesting events. Now during the event, gamers can play with more bonuses, do special research, and win a Batik-shirted Pikachu.

“Through this initiative, we hope to provide an unforgettable experience for tourists while introducing the beauty of Indonesia to the global stage,” added Rafael.

In fact, presenting Pikachu’s Indonesia Journey and Pikachu content using Batik, has been planned since 2022. At that time, the project emerged from a conversation between Omar Tellez, Vice President of Emerging Markets Niantic and Sandiaga Uno, Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy.

Series of layoffs in the gaming industry that will occur in early 2024

The storm of employee layoffs in the gaming industry apparently will not subside in 2023. The extreme cycle is still continuing, even starting in early 2024.

Several well-known companies were forced to start the new year with bad news. Not a few of those involved in this industry have had to lay off their employment.

The number of people who have been laid off is very large. To the point that some will lay off 1,800 workers.

So what company is meant? The following is the list, as compiled by Game Station from Kotaku, Tuesday (16/1/2024).

List of Companies Carrying Out Layoffs

The following are eight gaming companies that have laid off workers. Until this news was written, at least more than 2,700 people were fired.

1. Archiact

On January 4, the first company to announce employee layoffs came from Archiact. However, they did not specify how many people had been expelled.

“We are working with these individuals to offset this difficult transition as much as possible, including through reverse recruiting,” Archiact said.

2. Bossa Studios

Actually, technically the layoffs occurred at the end of 2023, only they were only reported and confirmed on January 5 2024. Here they laid off 19 workers.

3. Unity

This game engine company just announced on January 8 that they would lay off 1,800 workers. That means Unity is cutting 25% of its staff.

It could be said that these layoffs are the largest in the company’s history. They said the employee layoffs would be completed next March.

4. Twitch

After Unity, Twitch also revealed that it was preparing to lay off 500 employees on January 9. The company will do this at the end of January.

That means they will lose about 35% of their workers. However, it turns out that Twitch previously carried out layoffs in March and October 2023.

5. Playtika

On January 11 2024, the publisher and developer of this mobile game plans to fire 400 employees. This amount is equivalent to 10% of the company’s total workforce.

Playtika previously laid off 900 employees in 2022. But after that, the company instead poured USD 300 million or around IDR 4.6 trillion to acquire Innplay Labs in 2023.

6. Discord

At the same time, Discord also reported that it would send home 17 percent of its total staff. That number is estimated to be around 170 employees.

Discord CEO Jason Citron said in an internal memo that layoffs were necessary to make Discord more efficient, after excessive hiring in 2020.

7. Lost Boys Interactive

Apart from that, Lost Boy Intractive also laid off its employees. However, they did not provide details on how many people were fired.

“It seems like most of Lost Boys Interactive was laid off today, myself included,” wrote Jared Pace, a producer at the studio on Linkedin.

8. Funselector

Canadian game studio, Funslektor, announced that three of its developers have been laid off. These three are the great people behind the creation of the Art of Rally game.

TikTok Parent Wants to Sell Game Division to PUBG Mobile Owners

TikTok parent ByteDance is selling their gaming business unit. One of those interested in buying is Tencent, owner of many famous games including PUBG Mobile.

Currently ByteDance has reached the negotiation stage with Tencent, but so far has not reached an agreement, as quoted by Gamestation from Reuters, Tuesday (16/1/2024).

ByteDance and Tencent negotiated a sale involving a number of well-known games published by Nuverse, ByteDance’s gaming unit, for example Crystal of Atland and Earth: Revival.

In November 2023, ByteDance admitted that it would overhaul Nuverse and withdraw from the gaming business because they wanted to focus on their other core businesses. This decision comes five years after entering the gaming business, which currently has a global value of USD 185 billion.

Currently, ByteDance has stopped releasing new games and plans to divest the games that have already been launched. Previously they had been looking for potential buyers for Moonton, the company behind the popular game Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, which was also recently acquired by ByteDance in 2021.

Even though they had fierce competition in the gaming business, relations between ByteDance and Tencent have recently warmed up after Tencent often used ByteDance’s advertising network to promote their newest game entitled DreamStar.

Previously it was reported that last November there were several potential companies that wanted to buy Moonton. Including companies based in Saudi Arabia.

Moonton Technology was acquired in 2021 for USD 4 billion or around IDR 62.2 trillion. Shortly after the acquisition, the Chinese government set various strict regulations for the gaming industry, which caused the development of the gaming business in China to decline.
