The first trailer for Grand Theft Auto (GTA) VI has become a hot topic of discussion in the last day. Not only does it satisfy fans who have been waiting a decade, this trailer also breaks many records on YouTube.
According to our team’s monitoring, Wednesday (6/12/2023) the GTA VI trailer uploaded on YouTube has now been viewed more than 90 million times. This number makes GTA VI the most watched non-music video in 24 hours.
The record was previously held by YouTuber Mr. Beast which got 59.4 million views in 24 hours. Interestingly, the trailer only took around 12 hours to break this record.
The trailer video also almost beat the record held by BTS for the music video ‘Dynamite’ which earned 101 million views in 24 hours in August 2020.
Currently the trailer has 8.6 million likes and more than 704 thousand comments. The number of GTA VI trailer views in a day almost beats the total GTA V trailer views of 96 million views, as quoted by PC Gamer.
Not only the video, the announcement of the trailer release schedule on Twitter/X uploaded by Rockstar Games on December 1 also broke the record for the game-related post with the most likes on X. Currently the tweet has more than 2 million likes and has been viewed by more than 189 million times.
The first GTA VI trailer itself was released sooner than originally planned because it was leaked on social media. “Our trailer has been leaked so please watch the original on YouTube,” Rockstar said in a post on X.
This 90 second trailer highlights Vice City which looks more realistic. Fans of the GTA series were also introduced to the first female protagonist named Lucia.
According to information in the GTA VI trailer, this game will be launched in 2025. In its official statement, Rockstar said that will be released for PS5 and Xbox Series
