Games made by the nation’s children are increasingly being recognized. This can be seen from the success of Indigo Game as Telkom’s incubator which successfully delivered its game, Paw Rumble, to the Google Play Best Game of 2023 award.
Paw Rumble won the Best Made in Indonesia category on Google Play Best Game of 2023, because it was considered to be the best innovation made by a local developer and could be enjoyed globally.
Paw Rumble is a 4 person online multiplayer game that allows players to enjoy short, fun game time with others. This game is filled with simple missions to provide a fun game without taking up too much time.
Winning the Google award, Paw Rumble is proof of the success of Telkom’s end-to-end support through the incubation program from Indigo Game. This game was developed by GrinSmile Studio and launched on July 12 2023 and then published by Nuon Games.
In publishing it, Nuon Games also collaborated with Dunia Games from Telkomsel as a co-publisher, so that it could reach a wider market, especially in Indonesia. Nuon Games is part of PT Nuon Digital Indonesia as a subsidiary of Telkom which operates in the digital entertainment content sector.

Telkom is committed to continuing to support and facilitate local game developers so they can produce innovative and competitive games, so they can continue to penetrate the global games industry,” said the CEO of Nuon Digital Indonesia Aris Sudewo in his written statement, Wednesday (20/12/2023).
For information, GrinSmile Studio is a game developer assisted by Indigo Game in the second generation, or since 2020. Thanks to this development, this game studio from Surabaya, East Java, has also succeeded in winning the Best Mobile Game award at the prestigious Indonesia Game Awards event which was held during the event. Game Developer eXchange (IGDX) 2023.
GrinSmile Studio CEO Narendra Yogha Prathama said, Indigo Game and Nuon Games have provided enormous support and assistance in developing the Paw Rumble game in winning the Google Play Best Game of 2023 award.
“This award is a motivation for us to continue to innovate and produce games that are useful and entertaining for the community,” said Narendra.
Grahadea Kusuf, Chair of Startup Bandung, when asked for his comments regarding this success, admitted that he was happy to hear the news that GrinSmile Studio and Nuon Games had achieved.
“This proves that domestic game developers are competitive and full of talent, as well as proving that the concept of incubation by large companies for startups is still very necessary,” he said.
According to Dea, the transfer of knowledge, connections, experience and capital from large companies through the incubator clearly continues to provide added value. Even though startups excel in innovation and mastering technology, they generally have limitations around connections, experience and capital.
