TikTok Parent Wants to Sell Game Division to PUBG Mobile Owners

TikTok parent ByteDance is selling their gaming business unit. One of those interested in buying is Tencent, owner of many famous games including PUBG Mobile.

Currently ByteDance has reached the negotiation stage with Tencent, but so far has not reached an agreement, as quoted by Gamestation from Reuters, Tuesday (16/1/2024).

ByteDance and Tencent negotiated a sale involving a number of well-known games published by Nuverse, ByteDance’s gaming unit, for example Crystal of Atland and Earth: Revival.

In November 2023, ByteDance admitted that it would overhaul Nuverse and withdraw from the gaming business because they wanted to focus on their other core businesses. This decision comes five years after entering the gaming business, which currently has a global value of USD 185 billion.

Currently, ByteDance has stopped releasing new games and plans to divest the games that have already been launched. Previously they had been looking for potential buyers for Moonton, the company behind the popular game Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, which was also recently acquired by ByteDance in 2021.

Even though they had fierce competition in the gaming business, relations between ByteDance and Tencent have recently warmed up after Tencent often used ByteDance’s advertising network to promote their newest game entitled DreamStar.

Previously it was reported that last November there were several potential companies that wanted to buy Moonton. Including companies based in Saudi Arabia.

Moonton Technology was acquired in 2021 for USD 4 billion or around IDR 62.2 trillion. Shortly after the acquisition, the Chinese government set various strict regulations for the gaming industry, which caused the development of the gaming business in China to decline.

PUBG Mobile Will Collaborate with Hunter x Hunter?

Speculation regarding a potential collaboration between PUBG Mobile and the Hunter x Hunter anime in early 2024 is currently being widely discussed in the gaming community.

Even though there has been no official announcement from PUBG Mobile, several PUBG Mobile influencers and casters in Indonesia have provided clues regarding the possibility of this rumor. Apart from that, there is also a lot of video content circulating on various digital platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, Game Station news portal and YouTube which increasingly convinces the PUBG Mobile community of this collaboration.

Hunter x Hunter fans are very excited to see their favorite characters appear and be played in PUBGM in-game activities. The prospect of playing as an iconic character from this anime series has generated enthusiasm among fans.

Of course, this is not the first time PUBGM has collaborated with a popular Japanese anime title. Previously, PUBG Mobile had collaborated with Evangelion, Jujutsu Kaisen, and Dragon Ball. Big screen shows such as Spider-Man: No Way Home and Godzilla Vs Kong have also joined the world of PUBG Mobile.

Drawing parallels with previous successful collaborations in the anime realm, it is hoped that PUBGM will introduce characters from Hunter x Hunter to the game. The biggest question is which characters will appear in the PUBGM game? Speculation points to key figures such as Gon, Killua, Kurapika, and Leorio, all of whom are important in the plot of the Hunter x Hunter anime.

Although this collaboration has not been officially confirmed, the prospect of combining the dynamic gameplay of PUBGM with the Hunter x Hunter characters promises an exciting gaming experience that is worth looking forward to for fans of both.

Persija Esports Withdraws from PUBG Mobile Championship, What’s the Fate of the Players?

Persija Esports has just announced surprising news. For now they will no longer appear in the competitive PUBG Mobile scene.

“With the end of PMGC 2023 Turkiye, Persija Esports and Evos Esports have decided to withdraw from the PUBGM competitive scene and not continue collaborating in the PUBGM division,” wrote Persija Esports, quoted by Game Station from its official statement on Instagram, Thursday (28/12/2023) .

This news came not long after Evos Esports also said they were parting ways with them. It’s just that it’s still not known for certain what the real reason is that the two are no longer together.

“Evos announced that it will not continue collaborating with Persija Esports in developing the PUBGM team. This is not the end of the story, but rather a short break to build a stronger foundation in the future,” wrote Evos Esports.

Unfortunately, this announcement came after negative issues hit the players. Yes, recently there has been a lot of discussion among esports activists in the country, regarding players who have not received prize money from the official PUBG Mobile tournament.

However, it is not certain whether their separation was due to this or other factors. The reason is that both parties, neither Persija Esports nor Evos Esports, have provided a detailed statement regarding the reasons for the disbandment of this team.

But apart from this, what about the fate of the players? Meanwhile, only the White Tiger has revealed the status of his PUBG Mobile roster. They conveyed this via their official Instagram on December 20.

“Thank you to Coach Sinyo, Redface and Linx for their hard work and dedication to Evos,” wrote Evos Esports.

Meanwhile, the status of PJEV players is still gray. Because this team has not yet spoken out regarding the fate of Zuxxy, Luxxy and others like Evos Esports did.

Even so, Persija Esports’ journey in the competitive scene does not stop. They said that in the future they would carry out various innovations and collaborations.

“Persija Esports will also expand to other game lines/divisions as part of our vision and mission to continue to participate and excel and make a positive contribution to the esports ecosystem in Indonesia,” concluded Persija Esports.
